Vital Documents and Credit Reports Tip Sheet
Ensure that youth and young adults exiting foster care can obtain their vital documents before transitioning from foster care.
Description
Vital documents are important personal records (e.g., birth certificates, social security cards or information, driver’s licenses, health insurance information, medical records, and more). Having access to these documents is critical to young people as they enter adulthood.
Use this tip sheet to help youth and young adults, their caseworkers, and supportive adults ensure that vital documents and information related to credit reports are provided well before transition from foster care.
