Description
The Capacity Building Center for States (Center), in partnership with the Children’s Bureau, is committed to addressing longstanding disproportionality and disparities for children and youth of color in child welfare and related systems. To facilitate this process, the Center established an internal Race Equity Steering Committee that helps guide the Center’s work in addressing issues of race equity, intersectionality, disproportionality, and disparities.
The Advancing Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Child Welfare video highlights the work being done by the Center to support racial equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in child welfare at local, state, and federal levels. The video includes information about how child welfare agencies can partner with the Center for States to identify equity issues and deliver services informed by people with lived experience in child welfare.
