Provides strategies to enhance system capacity to recruit, develop, and support caregivers, strengthen their voice, and engage them in programming to meet the needs of children and youth. This webinar identifies best practices to assist caregivers and shares their personal accounts about the critical need for support. Representatives from New Mexico’s Step Up! Diligent Recruitment Project highlight a new customer service model developed for caregivers and share successes in addressing caregiver needs. Allegheny Family Network representatives, in Allegheny County, PA, outline their Family Support Partner program for new foster parent training; and representatives from the Fostering Futures NY program, in Albany, NY, explore effective strategies for collaboration. Presenters include a panel of nine program leaders and caregivers, including representatives from New Mexico, Allegheny County, PA, and New York; Taffy Compain, National Foster Care Specialist, Children’s Bureau; Jennifer Marcelli, L.C.S.W., Center for States’ Foster Care Program Area Manager; and Joan Morse, Program Area Advisor and State Foster Care Managers Constituency Group Lead.
