This presentation focuses on strategies for effectively integrating people with lived expertise into the child welfare workforce, including the benefits of adding people with lived expertise to the workforce, as well as thinking about what jurisdictions need to consider as they explore integrating people with lived expertise. Topics include essential considerations before bringing people with lived expertise into the workforce, securing leadership and staff buy-in, and technical or strategic pieces that must be addressed when successfully integrating people with lived expertise into an agency workforce.
