CFSR Data Profile Quick Reference Publication
Use the Child and Family Services Review Data Profile Quick Reference to help you better understand your state’s performance on statewide data indicators related to the safety and permanency of children served by the child welfare system.
Description
This tip sheet is designed for use with the CFSR Data Profile produced semiannually by the Children’s Bureau based on state submissions to the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) and the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS). The tip sheet explains and clarifies different Data Profile elements, including risk-standardized performance (RSP) and observed performance. State child welfare agency leaders, staff, and partners can use the Data Profile information in assessing strengths and improvement needs as part of strategic planning, reporting, and continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts.
Updates for CFSR Round 4 coming soon!
Note: Starting in August 2022, the CFSR Data Profile includes a new first page with risk-standardized performance visualizations for each indicator. A revised Quick Reference will soon reflect these changes.
