Anna Koehle

As the Capacity Building Center for States’ Program Area Manager for Permanency, Anna Koehle develops and leads customized technical assistance to meet child welfare professionals' needs in the areas of adoption and foster care. She also helps build capacity in these areas in state and territorial public child welfare agencies. Ms. Koehle is an innovative, collaborative, trauma-informed national child welfare and adoption professional with over 17 years of experience. She is a Human Services Board-Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). In her work, Ms. Koehle partners with state and local child welfare leaders, federal partners, community service providers, and those with lived experience in the child welfare system to implement and sustain effective change and process improvements.
Ms. Koehle's previous experience includes federal child welfare technical assistance, state child welfare quality assurance and accountability (including Child and Family Services Review and title IV-E reviews), Promoting Safe and Stable Families, adoption contacts, grants administration, and nonprofit leadership. Ms. Koehle keeps her early experiences as a foster care and adoption caseworker and her lived experience as a foster parent and adoptive parent at the core of her work supporting child welfare reform in states throughout the country.
